It is inevitable that traditional cultures will be lost as technology develops. Technology and traditional cultures are incompatible.
To what extent do you agree or disagree with this view?
Nowadays, with the significant development of technology, the traditional culture is gradually disappearing. In my opinion, I completely agree with this view, and I believe that technology and traditional cultures can not coexist in the world.
On the one hand, there may be occasions when technology can enhance traditional culture. Firstly, modern equipment can make traditional activities more efficient and yield better results. For example, in Mexico, indigenous communities use eco-friendly technologies to produce honey while preserving their cultural customs. Similarly, film-making offers an excellent opportunity for people to explore cultures from all over the globe while remaining entertaining.
On the other hand, the rapid advancement of technology continues to erode traditional ways of life worldwide. With access to smartphones and computers becoming more prevalent among young people in rural areas, some team sports or unique cultural practices lose attention as younger generations prefer digital activities instead of building on their traditions. Every day, we find it easy to see that most children, even though they are five years old, can use smartphones or computers to play games or chat with their friends, so they rarely spend their time exploring their culture. Furthermore, nowadays, fewer people are interested in traditional skills such as pottery-making because modern machines can perform those tasks in a short period.
In conclusion, while there may be occasions when technology and traditional culture can work together side by side for mutual benefit discovering each other, its steady process signifies a significant loss for many societies' cultures globally.
