The table below gives information about student enrolment at Bristol University in 1928, 1958, and 2008.

The table illustrates how many students registered at Bristol University in three different years of 1928, 1958 and 2008.
Overall, the total number of students surged year on year significantly, while the number of female students made up less students than their counterparts from 1928 to 1958. However, they exceeded those of male at the end of period. The proportion of local students and males dropped. In addition, the percentage of oversea students also increased sharply over the period.
In 1928, there was a small number of student enrollments, only 218 students, however in 1958, the figure of students increased by around 5 times and around 6 times in 2008. Meanwhile, males with almost three-fifths (58%) in 1928 witnessed a sharp shrink to 46% in 2008, compared to those of female students, increasing from 42% in 1928 to 54% in 2008.
Furthermore local students accounted exactly a half (50%), before experiencing a sharp increase by 14% in 1958 and 1-2% in 2008. Turning to the figure for overseas students, they remained at fairly lower totals at 5% and 6% in 1928 and 1958 respectively, however, they reached close to a third (28%) in 2008.
