Cambridge 15 test 2
The line graph illustrates the data on the number of people who visited a Caribbean island (stayed on cruise ships and stayed on the island) in the 7-year period, starting from 2010.
Overall it can be observed that the total number of tourists in millions escalated and displayed an upward trend whereas visitors preferences for staying on cruise ships exhibited a significant increase over the period.
Examining the dataset of total visitors in more detail, it is clear that only one million tourists traveled to the Caribbean island in 2010. Thereafter it rose to 2.75 million in 2016. After a dramatic jump from 2016 to 2017, it climbed to 3.5 million which is the highest over the period.
Turning to the remaining information, it is evident that about 0.75 million of people stayed on the island in 2010 whereas it was 0.25 for staying on cruise ships. In 2014, size of tourists increased to 1.5 and 1 million respectively for staying on cruise ships and islands. While, the number of visitors who stay on cruise ships climbed to 2 million in 2017, size of tourists staying on the island fluctuated slightly and reached the same level as in 2015.
