The reading passage and the lecturer discusses the purpose of the Chaco house in opposit point of views. The lecture refutes the very point in the passage with some explanation, let see on by one.
Firstly, the reading passage says that the native American used this house for the residential purposes but the lecturer contrasts this point by stating that if there is more than 100 rooms there, then there should be more number fire place for cooking but it has few fire places some where around ten.
Secondly, reading passage claims that they may be used it the purposes of storing the grain maize because there is lot of space available for storage but the speaker states that there is possibility for that but during the excavation this building there evidence report for the presence of grain. So it was not used for storage reasons.
Thirdly, reading passage explains that Pueblo may be used this house for the ceremonial functions because the mound are broken, breaking the pot at end of the ceremonial is their culture. But the professor states that when they exam the pot researcher find more than that, they found the sand and stone and building materials. So it may be used for the building construction.
To sum up, by stating that some logical explanation, the speaker conclude that it was not used for the residential, storage or the ceremonial purposes according to the speaker point of view.
