You borrowed some books from your school or collage library. Unfortunately you have to go away to visit sick relative and can not return the books in time. Write a letter to the library, Explain what has happened and tell them what you want to do about it.
Dear Sir,
I am a third year science student of your collage, Ms. Bhumika Suryavanshi. I am intended to writing this letter to convey my apologies for not returning the library books those are borrowed as on 10th July 2016.
It so happened that after getting issued the books from library, when I returned to my hostel, I received a message that one of our close relative has been admitted in to the hospital due to massive cardiac attack. I supposed to catch the first train to reach my native to attend him. In hefty, I completely forgot about the books and would not able to convey any of my friend to return them to the library. It is been more than 15 days of issuance of the book and I am aware that it can attract fines as per library rules.
I totally understand that there would be a requirement of those book by other students. So, I have guided one of my friend to submit those books on my behalf. I would request you to levy the fines by considering the circumstances I was in to.
I regret for the delay and appreciate your patience and cooperation in handling this issue.
Thanking you,
Yours faithfully,
Bhumika Suryavanshi
