The Lecture talked about an experiment that was made by a company for 6 months where it decided to turn over a project to a team of people. The team was responsible for planning the project and getting the work done. The results were not successful for the following reasons.
First of all, There was no justice among the team members, for example some members did not contribute as much, and yet when the project is successful they do not get less benefits than the real contributors. This refutes the reading passage where it was mentioned that a group of people has a wider range of knowledge, expertise, and skills than any single individual is likely to possess.
Secondly, accomplishing the project by a team might be more slowly than a single individual because they may require many meetings to reach an agreement on how to move on with the project. That is the opposite of what was mentioned in the reading passage that because of the numbers of people involved and the greater resources they possess, a group can work more quickly in response to the task assigned to it.
Thirdly, one or two members may have the most influence on the whole team which may affect the team in two negative ways. They either can convince the team that a specific idea will never work which will drop the whole descusion about this idea. Or they can convince the team that a specific idea is highly creative and when the project fails all the members are blamed even though other members may have worn them but they were ignored. This directly refutes the reading passage where it was mentioned that a team of people can come up with highly creative solutions cause a group is more likely to take risky decisions than single individuals
