The graph shows the percentage of male and female academic staff members across the faculties of major university in 2012.
The bar chart depicts the ratio of male and females in the role of academic staff members, in the major universities in 2012. The spectacular feature of the chart is the immense difference in the proportion of males and females in Engineering.
As is observed from the graph, more than 50% of the females were employed in the arts while the remaining were males. However, Business included about 65% males and 35% females. Not just this, in Education, a ratio of female counterparts was significantly higher than the males.
Moving further, Engineering was extensively employed by the males which included only one-fifth of females. It is interesting to note that an equal number of males and females were worked in the medicine while the males surpass the females with 20% and 30% in Law and Science respectively.
All in all, Majority of staff members in academic field are males instead of females. Additionally, Educational faculty had approximately 1 in 5 women more as compared to art faculty.
