The pie charts illustrate the information about the prime sources of energy in American between 1980 and 1990. Overall, oil was main energy source over the period of time. It was not much change in the percentage to of other sources of energy.
In particular, the proportion of oil in 1980 was highest, it was not changed in 2010, but the percentage of oil witnessed a downward trend, at 42 percent and 33 percent respectively. This was followed by the proportion of natural gas, this figure was unchanged during the period of time, at 26 percent in both years. The third was the percentage of coal, it noticed an upward trend from 1980 to 1990, at 22 percent and 27 percent respectively. Meanwhile, the percentage of hydroelectric power was unchanged over the 10-year period, at 5 percent. The proportion of nuclear power in 1990 was twice as many as 1980, at 10 percent.
