The diagram below shows how the Australian Bureau of Meteorology collects up- to-the-minute information on the weather in order to produce reliable forecasts.
The figure illustrates the process followed by Australian Bureau of Meteorology to produce trustworthy weather forecasts.
It is clear that the production of weather forecasts consists of four main stages. Overall, all the needed information is collected from many sources at the very beginning of the process, it then ends with broadcasting the programs on various kinds of multimedia.
At the first stage of making weather broadcasts, the most recent information from many areas in the country or even from outer space is received by some machines such as radar in the land, drifting buoy on the sea surface and satellite in the space. These data being presented in form of radar screen, synoptic chart and satellite photo, respectively, are then analysed and the predictions based on them are given precisely.
The production process continues with preparing for the broadcast using a computer. At the final step, trusted weather forecasts now can be brought to people in anywhere through many devices such as TV on news program, radio and telephone through recorded announcement.
