The graph illustrates the number of people who used the Internet as a proportion of population in three countries over the period of 20 years (from 1999 to 2009).
It is clearly that the percentage of population using the Internet in the USA, Mexico and Canada all steadily increased each year. While a much larger percentage of Canadians and Americans accessed to the Internet in comparison with Mexicans, Canada experienced the fastest growth in Internet usage.
In 1999, the Internet was most popular in the USA (20%), followed by Canada and Mexico, at about 10% and 5% respectively. From 1999 to 2005, all three countries saw an increase in the number of people using the Internet. Both Canada and USA reached approximate 70 percent of population accustomed to the Internet, compared to Mexico with only 25 percent.
In 2009, the first ranked belonged to Canada. Almost 100 percent of Canadians used the Internet, compared to about 80% of Americans and 40% of Mexicans.
