The pie charts below show the average household expenditures in Japan and Malaysia in the year 2010.
The pie charts compare the differences of the average household spending by four major categories between Japan and Malaysia in 2010.
Overall, as can be seen, spending on food and housing accounted for the largest proportions of expenses in both countries. Another visible trend is that Japanese expenditure on transport and health care was twice as expensive as Malaysia.
On the one hand, 34% of expenses in Malaysia, which showed for the largest part, was for housing, while the figure for Japan was lower, with 21%. In terms of food, the figure for Malaysia was slightly more than that for Japan, at 27% and 24% respectively.
On the other hand, the percentage of transport in the spending of Japan (20%) was two times than that in expenses of inhabitants in Malaysia, with 12 %. Likewise, people in both nations spend the lowest proportion of their expenditure on health care, with 6% and 3% respectively of total incomes.
