The reading claims that dinosaurs like modern birds and mammals have endotherm that keep their body temperatures constant. However, the lecture finds all the idea dubious and presents some evidence to refuse them all.
The author argues that dinosaur fossils discovered in polar regions and dinosaur for maintaining their temperature and be active in that region must be endotherm. Conversely, the lecturer brings up the idea when a cold climate arrives dinosaur could migrate or hybernate. Also, the polar regions was warmer in the past.
Furthermore, the reading passage holds the view that there is a relation between position and movement of the legs and endothermy and dinosaur can do physical activity like running because of the endothermy and that is the reason their legs are positioned underneath its body. On the contrary, the professor underline the fact the explanation of dinosaur leg's position is to support its weight.
Finally, the reading asserts that bone of dinosaurs have a structure named haversian canals. This structure helps dinosaurs to grow quickly and that is sign of endothermy and fossilized bones of dinosaurs have haversian canals densly. In contrast, the speaker dismisses this issue due to the fact that dinosaur rate of growth change in different climates and these are characteristic of animals without endothermy. If dinosaur have endotherm, their body temperature stay constants. Therefore, their body growth stay rapid and does not change.
