Before us, there is a bar chart that illustrates the percentage of British citizens that make donations to charity, according to five different age groups, during the years of 1990 and 2010.
Overall, the majority of the population who share their money in 1990 are of middle age, while twenty years later (2010), are of slightly older age. In contrast, the ones that give the least are the younger group in the study.
Moreover, from 18 until 25 years of age, a sharp decrease occurred during the studied period, from more than 15% to slightly more than 5%. Similar decrease, but less pronounced (approximately 5%), is verified in the to following age groups, from about 30 and 40% respectively, in 1990.
In the other hand, the charity donation group with more than 50 until 65 years increased from 35 until almost 40%. Finally, the seniors with more than 65 also start to participate more in recent years, but only a minor rise is observed.
To sum up, during the 90' more younger people were involved in charity, while more recently, in 2010, older citizens increased their participation but overall, the majority still occurs between the middle age groups.
