Government should offer college and university education free of charge to all students.

Essay topics:

Government should offer college and university education free of charge to all students.

The statement states that free education should be given to all the students who are admitted to the college and universities which is not realistic as in country like India or any other with huge amount of youth population giving free education to every student of every college or university is impossible. Instead it could be better if scholarship or education aids are given to students looking at their eligibility for it.

Being completely dependent on the government aids for the bachelors or masters education in university or college is not proper. As education is a huge expense this days and can not be full filled for everyone by the government. There are countries like USA in which a significant portion of the government income comes from the education sector because of the students coming to the USA for the higher education. Imparting education to all of them free of the cost would not proper way. As tax payers would be paying money for the foreign students. Instead aids should be given to those who really are in need of it. There are many needy who are not able full filling their wish of studying because of the lack of money. They should be given help.

Students should be offered opportunities to work in the sector they are pursuing their higher studies. so they can earn some money for the daily expense. On the basis of their performance in academics the scholarships should be continued or discontinued in the next term. It should be not completely on the basis of the academics only but students should also be good at extra-curricular activities.

Though there are many countries in the world that are offering free school education to all students of that country. This is wise step as no students drops out of the school for the lack of the money.
Providing such kind of aids to the school students can reduce the students drop out rate significantly. Therefore increasing the literacy rate and building the better society with less criminal activities by the juveniles. But in the case of the college it is not necessary to have a higher education for everyone. Sometimes giving free education to every college students can force them to study as they don't have to pay the fees. And can ultimately lead to improper use of the aids provided.

The government should provide on the basis of the area in countries i.e suppose a backward area in the country where the level of living is low and people are more under the line of poverty. The students who want to study ahead and having a good academic performances should be provided with some special scholarships so that people of that area grow and prosper. Because if few people are doing well after studying and getting help from the government it will instigate more people to study to well off and improve condition of their city and area.

Hence government should give free education for universities and colleges students but not for all for only those who are needy and deserving candidates. Those who are getting it should maintain or improve in the virtue of getting it ahead in next academic terms. And those who are not getting it can improve their academics or overall performances to get it.
