Overall, it can be seen that while agricultural had a downward trend regarding devoted percentage to India's GDP, the opposite was true for services sector. Besides, industrial body accounted for relatively stable figure over the period of 40 years.
In 1960, over 60% of the India's GDP are attributed to agricultural area, which was nearly threefold the figures of the remaining sectors. After 2 decades, the figure of agriculture decreased significantly to 45%, whereas there were slight increases in the proportion of industry and service regions, reaching a threshold of 25 and 28%, respectively.
At the end of the surveyed period, services major took the leading position of agriculture with the contribution of 62%. In contrast, the year 2000 witnessed the dramatic decline in agricultural sector, from 45% in 1980 to only 15%. Additionally, the percentage which industrial sector contributed to the India's GDP fluctuated in the range between 16% and 25% during the examined period.
