The bar graph gives information about the proportion of spending on five major categories in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Japan in 2009.
It is clear that most of these countries spent their money on housing, with an exception for Japan, where food occupied main expenditure. Health care and clothing accounted for the lower figure in compare to other three categories.
In terms of housing, the US had the highest percentage, above 25%, while other three varied between 20% and 25%. In food area, the expenditure of Japan (23%) was higher than that of the UK (20%), the figure for the US and Canada spending are almost the same, at 14% and 15% respectively.
Transportation was important in Canada with 20% of spending, compared to the US (17%), the UK (15%) and Japan (10%). In health care sector, the highest percentage was seen in the US (7%), which was 5,5% higher than that of the lowest in the UK (5%). In clothing sphere, all countries differed from 4 to 6 percent.
