The bar graph shows the percentage of people in Great Britain who live alone by age, also, gender in 2004 and 2005.
As can be seen from the figure, along with the age ascension, the number of alone people both genders increased significantly. Particularly, the rate of alone women respect to age is noticable. There was only under 5% of living alone female in the age 16-24, whereas it accounted for approximately 59% of whose in the age of 75 and over. Likewise, percentage of alone men also rose, with the increase of age, but at the slower rate compared to of alone women. More specific, there was just over 5% of living alone men, in the age 16-24, and peaked at 28%, in the age 75 and over.
Compared between two gender's trend, amount of alone men in the age from 16 to 74 was higher than of women. However,from the age of 65 up, the number of women soared gradually and made a big difference to the number of alone men.
Overall, in 2004 and 2005, living alone people proprtion increased by aging. In addition, the ratio in number of alone women and men also jumped drammatic.
