Overall, a more detailed look at the picture reveals that the most prevalant sport for girls was Netball while that for boys was soccer. The number of girls in Athletics, Netball, and swimming were higher than boys and vice versa for others.
Regarding to boys’ favourite sport, soccer accounted for the highest figure, at nearly 25%, followed by other sport activities at less than 20%. Likewise, 10% or under was the given data of Cricket and Marital arts. These four categories, namely soccer, other, cricket, marital arts, showed minimal percentages of girls which are 5%, 10%, 1%, 3% respectively. Compared to these sports, the differences between girls and boys in basketball and tennis were insignificant. The figures were from 5% to 10%.
By contrast, the percentage of girls in Netball was more than 25%, which was approximately 25 times bigger than boys. Similarly, around 23% girls and just 13% boys took part in swimming. Lastly, althetics was quite unpopular with 5% girls.
