The bar graph depicts the world population living in cities (towns) in 6 counties of the world in 3 time periods, with future prediction. Overall, it have been estimated, from middle twenties century to 2050 population will roughly double.
According to graph, the most residents of metropolitans lived in North America in 1950, 64 percent, whereas, Oceania was in the second with 62 percent. Since, 2007 these trends have seen an increase, rising to 79 percent and 71 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, in contrast to Oceania, 78 percent of European and 76 percent of Latin American/Caribbean residents lived in big cities in 2007. Furthermore, there was a prediction that 90 percent of Americans will resident in megalopolises, with tiny proportion more than Europe and Latin America/Caribbean.
On the other hand, in 1950 15 percent of Africans and 17 percent of Asians population inhabit in metropolitan area. Coming to 2007 these trends have soared within these countries to 37 percent and 41 percent, respectively. In addition, there was an estimation that the urban population will surge 62 percent and 66 percent, in these countries, respectively; however, despite of changes Africa and Asia remain less percentages rather than other countries.
In summary, in a century time period the given countries population living in cities will soar about 2 times; nonetheless, most North Americans will live in megalopolises.
