The graph illustrates the proportion of charity money giving by British people aged from 18 to over 65 during the period 1990 to 2010. It is noticeable that the 36-50 age group has the highest contribution overall while the opposite was true for the 18-25 age group.
In 1990, the percentage of charity money donated by the 36-50 age group reach a peak of 42% compared to the lowest figure for the 18-25 age group, with 17%. The figure of people aged under 35, between 51 to 65 and over 65 was 32%, 35% and 34% respectively.
Over the next 20 years, the figure for people under 25 witnessed a significant decline of 10%. The percentage of 26-35 people and under 50 was lower than 1990, with respective figures being 23% and 35%. In contrast, the donation of people under 65 and over 65 increased slightly to 39% and 35% correspondingly.
