The chart below show different types of transport go to and from work in 1960, 1980, 2000.

The bar chart compares the proportions of four different means of transport which the citizens in a European city used to go to and from work in 3 years; 1960, 1980 and 2000.

It is clearly seen that people use more cars during the period shown, the opposite was true for the other three types.

In 1960, one-third of total commuters travelled to and from the workplace, made up the biggest percentage among these transports in comparison with 20% and 27% using bus and bicycle, respectively. The figure for bus significantly climbed up to about 27% after 2 decades before falling to approximately 17% in 2000. In the same year, there was a plunge in the percentage of people went on foot and by bike to 10% and 7%.

Regarding the car users, It was the least favorite transport in 1960, accounted for roughly 7%. The figure then increased sharply to nearly 40% in 2000.
