The chart below shows the average hours spent per day in leisure and sport activities by youngest and oldest populations, in US, in 2015
The bar graph compares the time spent per day in recreation and sports by young generation and seniors in United States in 2015.
In overall, it is clear that while people aged over 75 inclined to watch television the most, playing electronical games was the most popular type of recreational activity in kids.
According to the bar chart, while seniors dominated the first place in term of watching tv, with 4,5 hours per day, the number of the 15-19 age group only accounted for 2,4 hours. In contrast, students spent an average of 1 hour playing computer games when they had leisure time. However, this rate was only 0,5 when it came to the over 75 age group.
The trend was totally different when it came to other sectors. The avegare hours which older group allocated to read and relax were more than those in younger people, at 1 hour and 6 minutes each compared to 2 minutes and 1 minute. In term of socialization and sporting competitions, the children’s figure was more significant than that in elderly, by 1 minute and 4 minutes respectively.
