Similarly, the UK spent more on books than French people, with the figures standing at just above 400.000 pounds and 300.000 pounds respectively. In addition, over 350.000 pounds were spent on cameras in the UK, over double that of France, which was 150.000 pounds.
On the other hand, the outgoing on computers in France was the highest at under 400.000 pounds, which was slightly higher than Britain standing at 350.000 pounds. A parallel trend can be seen in perfume. Neither of the two countries spent much on this item which accounted for 200.000 pounds in France but under 150.000 pounds in the UK.
