The chart below shows information about European people of different age groups who went to the gym once a month or more between 1990 and 2010.
The line graph below depicts the rate of Europeans of various age groups who gave their preference to work out at least once a month over the 1990 - 2010 period.
Overall, it is obvious that there was a significant upward trend in all categories, with the 18 - 24 age bracket witnessing the most dramatic rise. In addition, people aged 45 or more held the lowest figures throughout the period examined.
In general, the proportion of individuals between the ages of 18 and 24 visiting the gym started well under about 10% at the beginning of the period, after which it experienced a rocket to reach a peak of exactly 60% over 20 years. At that time, the 45-plus groups from 1990 to 2010 suffered the same change, which increased from nearly 0.5% to much more than 20%.
Similarly, individuals working out once or more in a month in the 24-35 age brackets underwent a substantial growth from nearly 10% in 1990 to hit the threshold of 50% at the end of the period.
Although the remaining group had the same percentage of 45 and older people in the first year of the period, it later went beyond that and reached a peak of 40%, which was higher than that of their counterpart.
