The bar chart above depicts the variations in numbers of teachers according to gender in six different educational institutions in UK in the year 2010. In both nursing and primary schools, female teachers dominate in numbers, with a percentage proportion close to 100% in both schools while their male counterparts lag behind with percentage proportion just below 10% in both schools. However, in the secondary school, the proportion of male teachers increased sharply to almost 50% with proportion of female teachers leading their male counterparts with only few percentage units. In the college level, there is equal porportions of about 50%, both males and females whereas male teachers have taken a slight lead over female teachers in private training institutions. However, in the university level, there is a vast increase in proportion of male teachers, representing 70% while female teachers lag behind with only 30%.
