The bar chart illustrates the data on number of male and female students at UK University in the year 2011 who were studying six art related subjects.

Overall, it is clearly evident that, female students are fairly ahead than males in all art related subjects. Likewise, the majority of both males and females chose English Language and Literature whilst minority opted for history and archeology.

It is observed that female students are interestingly way ahead than males in chosing philosophy with almost triple difference. On the contrary, Linguistic and English Language and Literature are studied by both kinds in a similar proportion making these the most popular subjects.

The least number of females i.e about 120 were recruited for history and archeolology whereas least males were in philosophy i.e 100. Meanwhile, interestingly, art and design was the only subject chosen by most males than females. In addition to this, Communication and media studies was chosen by abut 230 females and 200 males becoming the second highest choice of subject.
