The maps describe the present and proposed development of the center of the town Islip.
Overall, it is clearly evident that the town center will be enlarged and well-structured according to the redevelopment plan. More infrastructures like bus station, shopping center, new housings, car park are planned to be developed.
At present, the main road runs through the center of town with shops on both north and south of it. Likewise, a park lies in the east as well as a school lies on the west of the town. The countryside is situated in the north whereas housings on the south make the town beautiful.
As planned, there will be a gigantic ringroad in the town's periphery which undoubtly makes the town more accessible and sophisticated to people. The main road will be converted to pedesterian only road. Meanwhile, shops in the north will be converted into bus station, shopping center and car park whereas the shops in the south will be kept undisturbed. In addition to it, new housings, to accomodate growing population are planned on the south. Unfortunately, the park and countryside will shrink than before reflecting the urbanization.
