The given chart illustrates the percentage of residents of five Australian cities (Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Hobart) who bought fresh or instant coffee or went to a café for coffee or tea in last 4 weeks.
Overall, the percentage of those who visited a café for coffee or tea was higher than the cities with other coffee-related habits in almost all cities except for Adelaide, where this was exceeded by the figures for the residents who purchased instant coffee.
In terms of the proportion of people going to a café for coffee or tea in last 4 weeks, Melbourne and Hobart had nearly equal outcomes at around 63% while in Sydney, it accounted for approximately 61%. The level in Brisbane comprised 55% of these people; in Adelaide, however, the percentage was slightly lower than that of those who bought instant coffee (nearly 49% and 50% respectively).
There was a small difference between the percentages of people buying fresh and instant coffee in Sydney and Melbourne ranging between around 42% and about 48%. On the other hand, Brisbane and Hobart experienced the significant disparities in this regard, with the former having almost 34% and approximately 52% and the latter having around 37% and nearly 55%, respectively.
