The bar chart illustrates the earnings made through a country’s exports of five different categories of goods over the year 2015 and 2016 and the table represents the percentage change in the values of those five products over the same period.
In general, the earnings in 2016 exceeded the previous year's earnings for the majority of goods except, Gems and Jewellery, where the situation was other way round. There was a similar increasing trend in the percentage change over two years except for the Gems and jewellery, where it decreased to a certain amount.
In 2015, petroleum products were the most exported goods valuing around 60 billion. All the other goods remained between these two categories from which, engineered goods were the second most exported goods followed by, Gems and Jewellery then Agricultural products, and the least being Textile products which were around 25 billion.
All the earnings observed in 2016 were slightly more than the previous year and observed an average increase of around 6% while the Textile product drastically increased by about 15%. Earnings from the first two categories exceeded as compared to 2015. In fact, both products were commensurate in amount. Other than that, gems and jewelry products underwent a significant decrease in amount( about 5%) from 2015. Interestingly, earnings from Agricultural products remained constant for both years.
