The given chart displays the number of shops that closed and the number of shops opening in a region in the period of 7 years from 2011 to 2018.
Looking from the overall perspective, it is readily apparent that there were several grand openings of various shops in the first year, which then observed a modification that more shops are closed afterward.
Regarding the number of shops opening in 2011, its figure started at about 8,500 and fell considerably to 4,000 in the next year. After three years, the number of retail outlets opening witnessed a slight rise to roughly 6,000 and returned to the same figure in 2012. From 2015 onward, there was no change in the number of shops opening and ended with the figure being recorded at 3,000 in the final year.
Concerning the quantity of closed shops, its figure started the lower period with 6,500 in 2011, after which saw a fluctuation ranging from 6,000 to 6,400 in the period of 3 years from 2012 to 2014. In 2015, the number of shops that were closed dipped to roughly 900, which was approximately 4 higher than the figure of shops opening in 2015 and its figure started to rebound to about 5,100 in the next year and ended with the figure being recorded at 5,200 in 20188.
