The chart shows a percentage of live births by age of mother for UK and non-UK born mothers, 2015
The chart represents the proportion of live births by mothers who were born in UK or non-UK born in 7 different age groups in 2015.
Overall, the proportion of live births was higher for non-UK mothers than that of UK mothers. It is interesting to note that, UK mothers preferred to have a live birth at an early age, whereas non-UK mothers had a live birth at a later age. Around 25 to 29 of age, both mothers experienced the same percentage of live births.
Looking in details, UK mothers had the highest live births in ages of 30 to 34 of about 30%, followed by age of 25 to 29 of about 30%. It is noticeable that, UK mothers had the higher live births rates at the age of 20 to 24 of around 18% in opposed to 10% for non-UK mothers’ live birth rates. The rest of ages had the minimal live birth rates.
Meanwhile, non-UK mothers also experienced the highest live births in ages of 30 to 34 of around 35%, followed by age of 25 to 29 of about 29%. However, at the age of 35 to 39, non-UK mother showed the higher live births rates of 20% compared to UK mothers (approximately 15%). The rest of ages had the minimal live birth rates.
