The charts below compare the age structure of the populations of
France and India in 1984.
The given charts compare the population proportional rates further classified as males and females as studied under different age-groups in India, and France in the year 1984.
Looking from the overall perspective, it is readily apparent that over the period as a whole, the sex ratio in India remained the same, by contrast, more females than males were reported in France with aging. Also, during the given year, India reported a higher population rate than France across all the age-groups except the seniors.
According to the given illustration, nearly 6% fewer toddlers were reported in France as against 14% in India, with the same-sex percentage. Besides, although India witnessed a percent decline in the population rate while moving up in the pyramid(13.2% in 5-10, 12% in 10-15, and 11% in 15-20), the same experienced an erratic pattern in France, with 6 to 8% in 5-10, 8% in 10-20, and 7.8% in 20-25 respectively.
Furthermore, despite a continuous plummet in the Indian population(ranging between 10 to 4% from 25 to 70 years), France kept on fluctuating with more women than men. However, with the same gender ratio, India reported more than 4% old people(over 70), whereas France observed a dramatic dip in women's ratio, with 1 man behind 3 women.
