Women were the group that spent the most money on clothes. In 1985, averagely a woman spent 450$ a year buying clothes. This figure increased slightly to 460$ in 1995, before rocketed to 620$ by the end of the period. The similar trend can be seen in girls. The amount of money a girl spent on clothes rose from 90$ in 1985 to 100$ in 1995, reaching 110$ by the end of 2005.
