The three given pie charts illustrate the information about the proportion of three types of nutrients, which may be harmful if consume too much, including sodium, saturated fat, and added sugar in four different kinds of meal in the USA.
Overall, it can be seen obviously that people tend to consume a lot of sodium for their dinner. In contrast, there is a little one added in the breakfast and snacks of Americans.
Firstly, in dinner, the consumption of sodium is the highest of all, up to 43%, whereas the one of added sugar makes up merely half of that. Remarkably, sugar is favored most in snacks, whose percentage accounts for 42%. Meanwhile, the proportions of sodium and saturated fat for snacks are far less than the one of the aforementioned, only 14% and 21% respectively.
In terms of remaining meals, saturated fat and added sugar share the totally same proportions in breakfast, at 16%, which is higher than the percentage of sodium only 2%. Finally, the intake of the harmful nutrients is not much in American’s lunch, 29% for sodium, 26% for saturated fat, and 19% for added sugar.
