The first line graph demonstrated how a country's households had changed in terms of how they used electrical equipment, while the second showed how this has influenced how much time people spent on weekly household tasks from 1920 to 2019.
According to the general trend, having a large number of electrical equipment was growing more and more common, which considerably reduced their need to do housework.
At the onset, it is clear that nobody used a refrigerator after 1920. The percentages are 30% and 40%, respectively, for the vacuum cleaner and washing machine. The three electrical appliances were between 50% and 60% until 1940. By 1960, the proportion usage of washing machines and vacuum cleaners had coincided at a rate of 70%. Moreover, the refrigeration has soared to 90%, over 40% more than twenty years ago. Merely 20 years later, 100% of people were using refrigerators, and that number didn't go down until the end of 2019. In 2000, the vacuum cleaner reached 100% and is still in operation today. Until 2019, the price of washing machines had only climbed by 5% since 1960.
Despite the fact that households own an rising number of electrical gadgets, they no longer need to perform as many household tasks as they once did, including cooking, cleaning, and laundry. In 1920, they worked 50 hours a week on average; in 1960, that number was 20 hours, and in 2019, it was 10.
