The charts below show the main reasons for study among students of different age groups and how they are supported by their employers.
The given bar charts delineate the educational purposes among students of various age brackets and the amount of support they had received from employers.
Overall, it is apparent that the percentage of people studying for interest increased with increasing age while studying to pursue a career declined throughout the age bands. Moreover, the two younger age brackets received more support than the other three.
People with younger age chose to study for career purposes. However, the percentage decreased according to their age, from 80% in the under 26 age group to nearly one-fourth of that for the oldest age bracket.
The reverse trend can be seen in the percentage of students studying for their personal interest. Only 10% of under-26s preferred studying for their preference. In the older age group, growth continued and reached a joint rate with those studying for a career, at roughly 40% before hitting its peak at about 70%.
Regarding the support they received, approximately 63% and 50% of students from the two youngest age groups had been supported. While the amount continually dropped at the 30-39-year-olds, at 30%, above that, support rose slightly to over 40% for those over 49.
