Overall, the water drained for agricultural purpose is the highest in the developing areas. However, the developed ones show an exception for that.
As per data, there is a very large majority of water used for farming in Asia and Africa with more than four-fifths, compared to that for household and industry there at below one in five. Furthermore, South America makes up over seven in ten of water for agriculture, being by far from two other sectors with under a fifth.
This contrasted to the advanced continents, the industrial use takes up the proportion of water at the most, approximately a half. Additionally, Europe utilizes around a third of the water, which is lower than it in North America at almost two-fifths. Meanwhile, the rate of that in domestic utilization in those places accounts for less than a fifth.
