These two charts below illustrates the consumption of energy in the USA and UK over the period of 6 years.
Generally,as it can be seen on the chart, the usage of energy resources considerably grew in both countries. The most dramatic change was in consumption of gas in the UK.
The figure for oil in the USA was remained stable with about 40 percent,whereas in the USA, it was almost 30 percent between 2000 and 2006. In terms of coal,it had exact 30 percent in 2000 in the UK,surprisingly,it declined to 15 percent in 2006. It is evident that,the consumption of coal in the USA had been considerably increased by 35 percent over a few years period.Moreover,the figure for gas showed significant changes from about 20% to 38% in the UK,while in the USA it had a slight rise from 15%to 28%.
Regarding to other renewable resources,both countries increased their usage, but the overall percentage is quite minimal. The least usage of other renewable resources was by the USA (7%),furthemore it reduced to 5%, while the figure for the UK remained stable with almost 10 percent.
