Describe the statistics in this bar chart about sports participation by gender.
The bar chart illustrates a certain striking difference between the proportion of male participation in sports and the other of female participation divided into ten different categories based on the UK Department for culture, media, and sports.
Overall, it can be clearly seen that football attracts most of the male participation while most females have an interest in yoga. And, equality is nearly found in the participation of health and fitness. In terms of male participation, the percentage of participants on sports during this period of time was considered as the top band at football (with 90,8%), golf (with 86%) and cycling from place to place as well as for recreation (with 68,9% and 68,3% respectively). The middle band included a significant majority of sports participation which was occupied by the male at hiking and running (with 62,7% and 60,2% in turns) However, the percentage of aerobics and dance's participation was at the bottom band together with yoga which was made up of 24,1% and 17,5%. In terms of female participation, the proportion was not as high as the male one. While a vast majority of football's participation was occupied by men, a tiny percentage was formed by women with 9,2%. In contrast, over three-quarters of females joined in aerobics and dance with 75,9% which was three times lower compared to male's participation. In addition, yoga was formed with the highest percentage (82,5% of the total).
In conclusion, it's interesting to note that women dominated the proportion of indoor sports' participation ( aerobics and yoga which needs less physical challenge) whereas male's participation seems more interested in outdoor sports.
