The diagram below shows the changes which took place in a coastal area called Portland from 1950 to 2007. Write a report for a university lecturer describing the diagrams below
The diagram gives information about the alternations, which happened in a coastal location named Portland between 1950 and 2007.
Overall, there was a significant change in the western part of this area by eliminating the whole grassland. Additionally, the area along the beach also had some important alternations.
In 1950, it is clear that there was a large grassland which covered the whole westen Portland, however, the area eventually was superseded by a fantastic residential area including many shops and a cinema and many houses in 2007. Besides, the industrial zone in 1950 which located in the northwest was replaced by a complex of a multi-storey car park and park and swimming pool in 2007.
Furthermore, an intriguing change took place along the beach as a line of apartments was constructed on the bare ground in the 1950-2007 period. In terms of sea area, there was a marina which was established in 2007 being used for the huge number of yatches in Portland.
