The diagram illustrates production of ethanol fuel from corn. Overall, nine major steps are involved in the process to produce the ethanol.
First of all, the corn is is harvested and stored in a safe place. Subsequently, milling of corn is done to prepare it for cooking. Following milling, water is added to the milled corn and it is cooked for up to 4 hours. After the process of cooking, the mix is left for fermentation for approximately 48 hours.
Later, after the mix is fermented, the liquid and the solid by-product is separated and the liquid which is obtained is ethanol. But, the fuel obtained isn't pure as it contains certain impurities. Hence, a purification process is performed on this impure ethanol and it takes almost 5 hours to extract impurities from fuel. After the obtainment of ethanol it is stored in a container until it's further use. Later. when the demand arises the fuel is transported where ever it is required.
