The provided pie charts illustrate the percentage of Australian household energy consumption by various appliances and its greenhouse gas emission.
Overall, the most significant proportion is occupied by heating and water heating whilst the remaining appliances all together conquer a share of around a quarter. Likewise, besides other supplies, water heating, other appliances and heating release the majority of greenhouse gas.
Regarding domestic energy consumption, although heating has higher energy use of 42% it produces a minor greenhouse gas while water heating with 30% energy utilization emits of 32% of gas. Similarly, other appliances consume the energy of less than a fifth (15%) with its gas emission increasing by one in twenty (5%).
With respect to the appliances possessing minimum ratio, refrigeration releases 14% of gas, double than its energy consumption. Likewise, lighting also follows a similar ratio as of refrigeration with 4% in energy use and 8% in gas emission. Cooling, however, has a mere 1% of the difference in energy consumption and gas emission holding 2% share in former and 3% in later.
