Essay topics:

The first chart below shows how energy is used in an average Australian household. The second chart shows the greenhouse gas emissions which result from this energy use.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The first pie chart illustrates the amount of energy consumed in an average Australian household, while the chart below depicts the greenhouse gas emissions derived from this energy usage. Both charts are measured in percentage with six categories.
Overall, heating and water heating account for the majority of power consumption, whilst water heating and other appliances are the most contributors to greenhouse gas releases.
Water heating contributes nearly a third of total energy consumption, and makes up the relatively same amount for gas releases. (32%) Refrigeration only consumes four times less with 7% but accounts for nearly half of water heating’s gas emissions. (14%) Other appliances make up 15 % of power consumption, whereas the percentage of this category in the gas releases is nearly double that amount. (28%)
Heating takes up more than 40% of power usage but merely releases 15% gas. Cooling and lighting make up a relatively low amount of power consumption, with 2% and 4% respectively. The former releases 3% gas, whereas the latter takes virtually triple with 8%.
