The first graph below shoes the number of train passengers from 2000 to 2009. The second graph shows the percentage of train running on time from 2000 to 2009.
The first line graph gives the information about the number of train passengers in million from 2000 to 2009. At the beginning, there was a moderate increase before dramatically falling back to 35.5 in 2003, and then peaked at 48 in 2005. After that, the passengers number started to decrease smoothly with around 2.5 per year until in 2008, with 40, while an upward trend can be seen with 45 in the end.
The second line chart illustrated the proportion of punctuality of the train during the same period. The first five years witnessed a mild rise, increasing from 92% to 96%. However, there was a staggering drop in the next to years, decreasing directly back to 92%, which was same as that in 2000. Afterwards, the percentage of train running on time soared overwhelmingly, which peaked at more than 97% in 2008 and stabilized at 97% in 2009.
Overall, the numbers of passengers fluctuated between 35 and 48 over these years compared with the punctuality went up in total, except the three years, ranging from 2005 to 2007.
