The graph below gives information from a 2008 report about consumption of energy in the USAsince 1980 with projections until 2030

The give line graph compares the consumption of fuel in six different category: petrol and oil, coal, natural gases, nuclear, solar or wind and hydropower from year 1980 to 2030 in America.

It is apparent that the petrol is the most consumed fuel in America. It is projected that use of petrol will be hiked rapidly from 2015 to 2030. The coal consumption is second highest and natural gases consumption is third highest. However, natural gases consumption was higher than coal in 1980. Natural gases use is projected to remain consistent to year 2030 from 2015.

The least used fuel were nuclear, solar or wind and hydropower from the year 1980 to 1990. Nuclear, solar or wind and hydropower remained consistently same from the year 1980 to 1990. However, at the projected year 2015 to 2030 hydropower remain constant and fell from 2050. The projection estimates that hydropower will be least used fuel in America. Nuclear and solar or wind is fourth and fifth consumed energy respectively. The growth of consumption of nuclear and solar or wind is steady.

In conclusion, petrol is most consumed fuel and it is estimated that its use will hike too. This rise in use of petrol shows that America has more number of vehicles which run on petrol. The growth of nuclear and solar were nearly consistent whereas, coal and natural gases are rising steadily.
