The graph below gives information from a 2008 report about consumption of energy in the USA since 1980 with projections until 2030.Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparison where relevant.

The line graph illustrates how energy was consumed by US residents from 1980 and predict to 2030.

In history, the consumption of Petrol and Oil was the highest while new energy such as nuclear, solar/wind, hydropower occupied a negligible amount. In general, it is predicted that there is a slight increase in all type of energies in 2030.

According to the given data, petrol and oil were the dominant powers, which was accounted for 35 quadrillion units in 1980, as many as the total units of Coal and Natural gas, which was only over 15 units and 20 units respectively. By 2030, all these types of energy are predicted to increase hardly. Particularly, natural gas is expected to stable after the year 2010 at around 25 units.

In term of the remaining energy consist of nuclear, solar/wind and hydropower, over the years, they still account for a pretty modest amount of energy consumption in the US with fewer than 5 units for each type in 1980. While Nuclear and Solar/Wind are expected to rise to just over 5 units, the amount of hydropower in 2030 might be less than it was in 1980.
