The graph below gives information about car ownership in Britain from 1971 to 2007

The given chart compares the percentage in the number of car owned by British during the period between 1971 and 2007.

Generally, the proportion of people having car increased. Interestingly, the increase was mainly witnessed in the rate of two cars owners.

The rate of UK residents owning no car in 1971 was highest, at approximately 50%. The figure for one car owner was slightly lower, at about 45%. In that year, around 8% of people declared to use two cars, compared to just somewhere at 1% of three or more cars users.

There was a gradually dramatic decrease in the proportion of no car people to end the period at about 25%. Whereas, two cars users experienced an opposite trend with reaching around 27% of population in 2007. Britain seemed to remain the rate of one car users in 2007 at the same as the beginning year, but three or more cars was many time multiplied to nearly 8% in ending year.
