The graph below gives information about changes in the birth and death rates in New Zealand between 1901 and 2101.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Write at least 150 words.

The line chart given illustrates the fluctuation in the birth and death rates in New Zealand from 1901 to 2101. Overall, it can be clearly seen that the population has been becoming older and older over time.
In 1901, the birth rate was higher than death rate as there were 20000 human were born and only less 10000 passed away. In the next 70 years, the number of births basically skyrocketed and the figure reached the highest peak in 1965. After 10 years, the number hit the second peak and had dramatically plummeted as it fell to 50000 births. In 1991, the number of births peaked once last time before it generally decreased in the rest of the period.
The death rates, from 1901 to 2001, had been oscillating dramatically but insignificantly. However, it had an overall rising trend throughout the period. The number of deaths in New Zealand had surged greatly since 2001 and it is predicted to be higher than the birth rate in 2041. After 2061, people believe that the number of deaths will be basically stable.
