The given line chart illustrates information about the proportion of the residents in four Asian nation living in cities between 1970 and 2020, with predictions for 2030 and 2040.
Overall, the percentages of population in 4 countries had a tendency to be upward. It is also worth pointing out that the residents who living in Malaysia is the highest figure at the end of the period.
To begin with, at the begining of the period, the percentages of people who living in Malaysia and Philippines shared a similar number about 30%. After that, the proportion of population lived in Malaysia increased significantly to over 80% at the end of the period while the percentage of residents lived in Philippines rose up to nearly 50% in 1990 although dropped slightly in 2010 before increasing minimally to over 50% in 2040.
Turning to the other set of data, both proportions of population lived in Thailand and Indonesia were recorded at about 15% in 1970. After that, this figure witnessed a dramatically increased to under 25% in 1990, respectively. Moreover, the percentage of people who living in Indonesia will be stood at peak of over 60% in 2040 while the proportion of residents lived in Thailand witnessed no changed from 2000 to 2020. After that, this figure will be measured increase significantly to about 45% at the end of the period.
