The depicted line graph reveals statistics about the extent of carbon dioxide emissions per person in four different European nations in the period of 1967 and 2007.
Overall, looking at the graph, it is immediately obvious that the emissions in England as well as Sweden was on the dramatic decline, whereas there was a paradoxical trend in Italy and Portugal. Additionally, the extent of emissions per British was always dominating than the others in the whole period.
In 1967, approximately 10.5 tonnes of CO2 emissions was recorded in England, which was also the highest data in the entire period. By the same year, the datas in Sweden, Italy and Portugal accounted for 8.5 tonnes, 4 tonnes and 1.7 tonnes, respectively. In the next ten year, the proportion in Britain experienced a slight decrease, whereas in Sweden, the data dramatically climbed and hit a peak at over 10 tonnes per Swedish, before being on an extreme decline in the rest of the period. By contrast, CO2 emissions in the other nations were both on the substantial increase.
In 1989, the data in Italy overtook the counterpart in Sweden and then accounted for roughly 7.8 tonnes per person in 1997, which then stabilized in the next 10 year. At the same time, the amount of carbon emission per person in Britain was recorded at 8.5 tonnes, whilst there was an equality between the data in Sweden and Portugal, which both stayed at approximately 5.5 tonnes per person.
